FLEXTERRA ® PATENTED, INNOVATIVE, AFFORDABLE THE PRODUCT FOR EFFICIENT EROSION PROTECTION
"Flexterra" is an innovative product to protect slopes and inclines and is distributed by SCHEIER.
"Flexterra" is applied in the hydroseeding process and forms a homogenous blanket on the ground, lowering the risk of erosion and accelerating germination. No other product on the market today offers comparable erosion protection and germination acceleration to Flexterra - the "hydraulically applied biomat". The patented technology in this product makes it a flexible growth medium, or FGM. The balance of components stops erosion even as it is being applied. The mix adheres for up to one year.
Practical trials have shown that Flexterra is more efficient than conventional erosion protection systems for slopes and inclines (geomats, hessian, straw blankets etc.) In the hydraulic wet seeding process, the seed is applied, the area is uniformly covered and the effect of other binders in the grass is improved in one process. This means savings of 30% in terms of both financial and material resources in comparison to conventional ground treatment processes.
Flexterra is the result of a combination of chemical components and mechanical technology. The four basic components (artificial fibres, wood fibres, colloid gel and adhesive) let a waterproof layer form, which prevents active chemical agents on the surface from being washed away. The green colour means you can visually monitor whether the product is evenly distributed.
Flexterra provides solutions for the widest range of terrains.

POSSIBLE APPLICATIONS:
Flexterra can be used for planting or recultivating:
The instructions and recommendations of the machine manufacturer must be followed to the letter. To ensure that the pump and machine remain fully functional, only use approved hydroseeders with a hydraulic mixer with paddles and a flat-spray nozzle.
To ensure that the area is evenly coated, begin applying Flexterra on the far side of the working area.
A. Erosion protection and recultivation:
Optimum results can be achieved by applying the FGM in two phases:
Phase 1:
Mix and apply the fertilizer or ground preparation with the seeds and a small amount of Flexterra.
Phase 2:
Mix up some Flexterra in a ratio of 23 kg (one pack) to 475 - 500 litres of water and apply to the newly-fertilized area. This will be enough for an area of 50 sqm.
Depending on the ground conditions, Flexterra can also be applied in one phase. In this case, mix all the components (Flexterra, fertilizer and seeds) in one process. The manufacturer can provide more information.
B. Mix:
A hydroseeder with a mixer and paddles is recommended.
Fill the tank with water to about 1/3 or up to the half-way point of the mixer shaft. Activate the pump so that the hoses become free of air and wet. Switch on the mixer and add water and Flexterra step by step. Mix in the product and water in a ratio of 23 kg/475-500 litres.
Once the tank is 3/4 full, add all the FGM. Only add the fertilizer once filled. Mix the emulsion for at least 10 minutes before application. This step is important to activate the aggregate and to maintain the correct viscosity of the mix.
Close the bypass valve so that no air gets into the emulsion.

C. Application:
The use of a flat-spray nozzle will ensure optimum surface coverage. When applying Flexterra, always begin from the far side of the area that you are working on. This will prevent a "Shadow effect" and ensure 95% coverage.
Increase the quantities for ground at serious risk of erosion or steep, rounded or rough inclines. For more details please contact the manufacturer.
The product should not be used by canals, drainage ditches or other areas with running water. This is unless it is being applied in conjunction with another erosion protection cover or a non-removable turf to stabilise the ground.
